SSP (Situations, Simulations, Preferencials)

The SSP is a training structure that is used as a progression of the positional games.

The same details of play that are found in rondos and positional games are present in SSPs, but a SSP is a training structure that reflects a particular match situation or a moment in the game.

With a SSP training exercise, we are attempting to recreate a situation that happens during the game; e.g., advancing the ball in the defensive third of the field from a goal kick.

The emphasis is on both the technical and tactical elements but in a more global way and in the style of play that we are coaching.

To understand the tactical requirements, the players repeat the movements that happen in a particular moment of the game in order to understand the tactical requirements and always with the style in mind as to how you want theĀ  game to be played and always working with the purpose of youth development.
